Introduction:

Women have general health concerns that they share with their male counterparts such as a need for healthy food intake, regular exercise, emotional well being and stability of life in general. However, there are very special needs that women have as a group. Many of these center around the ovarian hormone activity, which leads to periods and their abnormalities.

There are special concerns regarding contraception, venereal disease prevention, infertility, pregnancy, child bearing, breast diseases, gynecological diseases including the female type cancers. Here I am attempting to deal with these more female topics that affect women's health in particular. Where the topic has already been dealt with elsewhere in more detail, I am providing links (in blue and underlined) in the table above, which lead you directly to these other chapters.
